Terms of service

This agreement

SolidVents is run by Yoshi Chen, an individual based in Taiwan (“we”, “us”). By using SolidVents you agree to these terms. How we handle personal data is explained in the privacy policy. If you use SolidVents for a company or another organization, you confirm that you can agree to these terms on its behalf.

If you do not agree, please do not use SolidVents.

The service

SolidVents is a browser-based parametric pattern generator. You design patterns on a canvas and export them as SVG, DXF, STEP or PNG files. It has a free plan and a paid plan (Pro). Features marked Beta, including AI design through the API and the MCP server, are still being built and may change more often than the rest.

Your account

• You need an account for Pro, the cloud repository, community submissions and the API. Use an email address you can receive mail at, and keep your password to yourself.
• An account is for one person. It can be active on one device at a time; signing in on a new device signs the previous one out.
• You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anything an AI assistant or script does with your API token or connection.
• You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU and the UK) to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.

Plans, payment and cancellation

Free

• Every layout mode, gradient and export format can be used for free, with three exports a day. The count resets at 00:00 UTC. Some advanced features can be tried for free and need Pro to export.

Pro

• Plans and prices are listed on the pricing page. Prices are in US dollars; taxes may be added at checkout.
• Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record and whose terms also apply to your purchase. From mainland China you can pay through Afdian instead.
• Subscriptions (monthly or yearly) renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through the link in your Lemon Squeezy receipt email, or by writing to us. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for, and nothing more is charged.
• Passes (3 months or 1 year) are a single payment for a fixed period and do not renew.
• If we change prices, the new price applies to new purchases. We will tell active subscribers before a change affects their renewal.
• When Pro ends, the Pro features lock again and your cloud designs are moved back to your browser. Files you exported remain yours.

Refunds

• Write to solidvents@gmail.com about anything payment related, and we will handle each request individually. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer protection law where you live.

Promotions and rewards

• Rewards such as free Pro time or discount codes are granted under the rules shown with each offer. We review claims, may refuse ones that do not meet the rules or are not genuine, and may change or end a program. Rewards have no cash value.

Your designs

• They are yours. Patterns and files you create with SolidVents belong to you. You may use them in commercial products, client work or anything else, with no attribution required. We claim no ownership.
• We only use them to run the service. When you store designs in the cloud repository or send them through the API, you allow us to store and process them for that purpose only.
• Images you load (backgrounds, tracing references, product photos) must be yours to use.
• Presets and templates from the marketplace may be used as starting points for your own designs and in the products you make. You may not resell or redistribute the preset files themselves.

Check before you manufacture

• SolidVents generates geometry. It does not check whether a design is strong enough, safe, acoustically or thermally suitable, compliant with regulations, or manufacturable by your process. Inspect every exported file and test it before production. You are responsible for what you make with it.

Community submissions

When you submit a design to the community, you declare that:

• you created it yourself, and it does not reproduce anyone else’s copyrighted artwork;
• it contains no trademarks, logos, lettering, brand-identifying patterns (such as a fashion house’s signature motif), or recognizable characters and figures;
• it is not taken from the surface decoration of a product currently on sale, since a registered design can be infringed even by redrawing it yourself.

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free right to display, distribute and, where applicable, sell the design in the marketplace, and to make thumbnails and demonstration images for that purpose. Other users may load approved designs and use them like any other preset.

Your credit name and description are shown publicly. You can edit or delete a submission at any time under My submissions; deleting it stops further distribution, but copies other users have already loaded stay with them.

If a third party claims rights in a design, we may remove it without notice. You are responsible for any dispute that arises from an inaccurate declaration.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

• get around the export limit, the one-device session or Pro checks, for example by automating free accounts or altering the app;
• share, sell or publish your account, your API tokens or your Pro access;
• download the marketplace in bulk, scrape the site, or copy SolidVents to build a competing service;
• overload, probe or attack the service, or exceed the API’s rate limits;
• upload content that infringes someone’s rights or is unlawful;
• use SolidVents for anything illegal.

Reverse engineering is not allowed except where the law permits it regardless of these terms.

AI design and the API

• The MCP server and the REST API are part of Pro and are in Beta. Tools, parameters and limits may change, and we may set or adjust rate limits to keep the service available for everyone.
• API tokens are personal. Keep them secret and revoke any you no longer use.
• AI assistants you connect (such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor) are third-party services. Their terms and privacy policies govern what you send to them. Actions they take through your connection count as yours.

Our content

The app, the pattern engine, the website, the SolidVents name and logo, the official presets, tutorials and videos belong to us. These terms give you the right to use them as part of the service, not to copy or redistribute them.

Changes and availability

We keep improving SolidVents, so features may be added, changed or removed. We aim to keep it available, but it may be interrupted for maintenance or by problems outside our control. When a change significantly reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance.

Disclaimers and liability

SolidVents is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be error free or uninterrupted, or that its output is suitable for any particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data, or production costs caused by a faulty file. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence, and they do not reduce your rights as a consumer.

Ending this agreement

You can stop using SolidVents at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms; where reasonable, we will warn you first. If we close the service as a whole, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid Pro period. This does not apply to an account suspended or closed for breaking these terms: paid time lost that way is not refunded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan, and disputes go to the competent court in Taiwan. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and the right to bring a claim there.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change we update the date at the top of the page. If a change is significant, we will announce it in the app or on the changelog before it takes effect. By continuing to use SolidVents after that, you accept the new terms; if you do not accept them, you can cancel and stop using the service.
