Dot Vortex Ring Pattern
A donut-shaped swirl of dots built on a Fibonacci spiral inside a custom ring boundary, with circles in the inner band morphing into rounded triangles at the outer edge.
About this pattern
Here the Fibonacci spiral is clipped by a custom ring boundary, turning the usual sunflower disc into a swirling donut. Dots shrink to fine points along both the inner and outer rims of the band, so the ring appears to rotate, a vortex effect created entirely by the size gradient, with every element sitting still.
Look closely at the outer band and the circles are no longer circles: a shape morph transforms them into rounded triangles as they approach the rim, adding a directional, almost gear-like bite to the silhouette. Both the morph and the size falloff are independent controllers you can retarget or disable.
The compact 200 × 200 mm canvas and hefty 50 mm extrusion depth suggest what this preset was made for: a chunky machined or 3D-printed part (a speaker ring, a tweeter surround, a decorative bezel) rather than a flat sheet. Scale the canvas up and it serves equally well as a circular wall piece.
